Chase Recap:

Adam and I left Norman with an initial target of Lubbock. A slight risk/2% was issued for the area along the Texas/New Mexico border. At 11:30 am, this was upgraded to a 5% tornado.

Trip to Lubbock

We grabbed lunch in Wichita Falls and continued west towards Lubbock. By the time we arrived in west Texas, there was still not a lot going on. There was some attempts at storms along the mountains as well as some grungy storms up along I-40.

After meandering around west Texas, hoping one of the towering cumulus clouds would form, we decided to head out towards Roswell and the mountains.

Roswell Storm

Storms struggled to move or gain intensity as they came off the mountain. This would be the best we could muster. It’s nice to enjoy a storm in the middle of nowhere, and that’s exactly what we did north of Roswell.

We stayed that night in Roswell.
