Chase Recap:

After getting back from the Grand Canyon/Zion trip, Jari and I had one possible last chase day before he headed back to Finland.

We headed up I-35 to I-135 with an initial target near Russell. As we were heading north, we decided to start west out of McPherson. We intercepted our first storm near Dighton which had some good lightning and wind.

As we drifted south, we ended on more storms near Sublette. We followed these east before giving up. As we were giving up, the storms seemed to really intensify. The updraft became more pronounced and winds picked up on Dodge City radar. We encountered 1-1.75″ hail and winds in excess of 60 MPH.

Eventually we ended up near Ashland shooting a sunset and lightning. Most of my pictures didn’t come out, but I still managed some decent pics.
