Chase Recap:

Starting the morning in Fort Morgan

Started off spending most of the morning sleeping in Fort Morgan, CO. We finally got motivated and out the door around 1pm. Headed down 76 towards Denver, and then dropped south to the west of Denver Airport.

Denver International Airport Tornado

A storm fired over metro Denver area and was near Aurora. Motion was pretty slow to the northeast.

We stopped multiple times to keep ourselves positioned in the hook. Eventually, we observed a funnel which we were told by other chasers touched down. As we continued following the storm to the east on highway 79, the traffic became unbearable. We dropped south to Bennett and I-70.

Round 2?

Storms kept firing to the south off the mountains, so we started heading to the south. Those quickly fell apart.

It was quickly becoming obvious the day was over. So we headed downtown for dinner. Stopped off and visited with Matt Sellers in Pueblo before heading to our hotel in La Junta.
