Chase Recap:

I didn’t have high hopes for this chase day and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Severely jet-lagged from Germany, we left early in the afternoon from Norman and headed west on I-40. Stopped for gas in Elk City then west towards Pampa where we filled up again and headed southwest towards Panhandle.

We intercepted our first storm of the day near Borger before losing it to the road network. Very little lightning associated with the storm.

We headed back towards Pampa and then south towards I-40 where we got in front of a line of storms coming out of Amarillo. The sun was going down and we opted to try for some lightning photos.

We ended the night in Shamrock at the Dairy Queen, when another storm popped to our southwest and was showing some significant hail on GR3. So we went to get in front of it, but it seemingly died off as it got to us.

I called it for sure there and headed back to Norman.
