Chase Recap:

I was watching the weather all day in anticipation of severe weather. A few tornadoes were reported going through the Chicago area and moved over Lake Michigan when I left and headed west. There was mostly a line of storms, but a couple embedded supercells with Tornado Vortex Signatures on the GRR and IWX radar sites.

I race down I-96 to Grand Rapids and then used M-6 to I-196 towards Holland and headed south on M-40 to Hamilton, MI. I hung out there as the storms and rotation made landfall. I couldn’t see a lot because of all of the trees, but I followed the line of storms south as they made landfall and moved south and east.

I stopped in Allegan for some Wendys before proceeding south towards South Haven. I ended up seeing a wall cloud on M-43 near Bangor before giving up on the night as most of the stuff was falling apart. Meanwhile, storms were kicking pretty hard back in Lansing which is where I probably should have just stayed. Tornado sirens went off in Delta Township and there was some extremely high straight line winds that blew stuff over.

I returned home, getting home pretty late.(After Midnight)
